Hi there! We’re Andrew and Jenny. We first met while building hiking trails for AmeriCorps in Nevada. At the end of our term, Andrew asked Jenny if she wanted to hike the John Muir Trail – a 213 mile backpacking route in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. After sleeping on the doorstep of the Yosemite backcountry office to secure walk-up permits, we started off on the trail. As it turns out, spending 13 days in a row with someone while taking on an arduous physical task is a pretty good way to get to know them. When we came out the other side, we realized how much we enjoyed being together and started dating soon after.
We worked seasonally for several years and traveled during the winters. Our first bicycle tour together was Southeast Asia in 2016 and we’ve been hooked ever since. We’ve done bike trips in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Chile, Argentina, Cuba, and Taiwan. These trips set in motion the desire to embark on an open-ended world tour, though this was postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
After getting vaccinated against Covid, we both quit our jobs and set off on the extended bike tour we’d been dreaming of for so long. We started out touring the Pacific Northwest of the US before heading over to Europe. We hope you enjoy the documentation of our trip – thanks for reading!
